Announcement & Scientific Committee

The Unmanned Vehicles for Research Workshop will be held in Livorno between the 12th and 14th October 2016 in Livorno (Tuscany, Italy). The aim of the workshop is twofold: on one hand it acts toward the ENVRIPlus objectives by giving an opportunity for confrontation and discussion to the many ENVRIPlus RIs that make use of unmanned vehicles as tools for their research purposes; on the other hand it wants to open to the scientific community as a whole and serve as a basis to discuss the employmend of unmanned vehicles in research. The workshop will be open to industrial partners as well, since a sinergy between research facilities and industial realities is necessary to develop, test and improve any unmanned platform. Topics that will be addressed are:

  • Platforms standardization and sensor web enablement (SWE)
  • Platforms development and state-of-the art
  • Platform-related sensors development and state-of-the art
  • Access to platform and transnational access
  • Deployment in remote and difficult areas
  • Regulations governing the usage of unmanned vehicles

Targeted participants on related fields

  • Professionals, academics
  • Policy makers in unmanned vehicles deployment policies
  • Industry working on development of unmanned platforms
